OEA Awards and Scholarships:
All awards and scholarships are presented at the Spring OEA RA.
: The $2,000 is presented each year to an OEA member who is a career teacher in a graduate degree program and in need of financial assistance. (Deadline: January 15th)
Jean Kershaw Scholarship: The $1,000 scholarship is presented each year to a student member enrolled in a teacher education program in Ohio or a senior education student who has been accepted for a graduate study at an Ohio college or university. (Deadline: January 15th)
SSP Award: This award is presented to an OEA member whose activities reflect the contributions to public education. (Deadline: November 15th)
Human & Civil Rights Commission Awards: Holloways/Human & Civil Rights Commission Award is presented to an OEA member. Doris L. Allen Award is presented to an OEA local or district association. Charles A. Glatt Award is presented to an individual or group outside the profession. (Deadline for all three awards: January 15th)
Peace & International Relations Committee Awards: Paul Swaddling Award goes to an individual. Peace & International Understanding Award goes to an OEA district or affiliate. (Deadline: January 15th)
Friend of Education - The OEA Executive Committee occasionally gives special recognition to an individual or an organization.
Blue Ribbon Association Award - OEA presents this award to local associations that have displayed innovative problem-solving techniques and/or unique public relations and communications skills.
Media Award for Public Service - OEA also presents this award recognizing an individual and/or organization for a major contribution to the better understanding of problems, progress, and needs of public education, or for programming of an outstanding educational nature.
