NEA Teacher Toolkit

 The NEA Teacher Toolkit is a suite of Web-based classroom tools designed by NEA members for teachers. These tools can help teachers meet requirements of both IDEA and "Highly Qualified Teacher" in the No Child Left Behind Act and accelerate achievement for each child.

Included in the suite are: classroom tools, IEP tools, curriculum tools, and assessment tools. These basic tools are available at no cost.

PLEASE NOTE - Registration and Log In Required:

Security and privacy are of utmost concern to NEA. Therefore, to ensure that only you have access to the data that you enter into the NEA Teacher ToolKit, you will be asked to complete a registration form before using the ToolKit for the first time. Also, each time you access the ToolKit you will be asked to login. You will need to register and log in even if you've already done so for NEA.org.

Classroom Tools
The NEA Teacher Toolkit  includes the following classroom tools:

  • The class roster provides teachers with access to student and parent information.
  • Attendance Reporting Module allows teachers to track/report attendance and tardies.
  • Behavior Log provides for the tracking and reporting of discipline.
  • Intervention Log allows teachers to document academic interventions that they have executed and the resulting outcomes.


IEP Tools
The Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Development Module included with the NEA Teacher Toolkit allows teachers to develop IEPs for their students. Additionally, it allows them to generate reports that show students' progress toward meeting their goals and objectives.



Curriculum Tools

The NEA Teacher Toolkit includes the following curriculum tools:

  • Curriculum Standards provide teachers with a quick reference to the academic standards that are being utilized in their state, and a report that shows which standards have and have not been assessed based.
  • Intructional Resources allows teachers to create, store, and search for resources aligned to state standards.
  • Lessons are developed using a standards-based template that teachers can customize to meet their specific needs. These lessons can then be added to the plan book.
  • Plan Book is an online calendar for theyear that allows teachers to develop and view their curriculum for the year, by month, week, and even by day.



Assessment Tools
The assessment tools included with the NEA Teacher Toolkit provide test questions that have been aligned to state standards and that can be selected from an item bank to develop a test. Teachers can also search for pre-developed tests that are aligned to specific standards, or they can create their own test items.


No Cost for Basic Tools
The tools above -- the basic tools -- are available with the NEA Teacher Toolkit at no cost. In the very near future, an advanced set of tools will be for purchase -- discounted for NEA members. These advanced tools will include: gradebook tools, performance tools, and my learning tools. Watch for the advanced tools in late Winter or early Spring 2005.
