Five Star Awards
Any local SWOEA association is eligible to receive the Five Star Award and a $500 check for local association programs. The local association must acheive five out of the six following criteria during the 2004-05 school year:
- Send local association representative to the Fall and Spring Representative Assemblies.
- Have their local president or designee attend the SWOEA Presidents’ Plus One meetings.
- Local members take part in 2/3’s of the SWOEA workshops offered.
- Conduct a drive for the OEA Fund for Children and Public Education.
- One or more local members serve on a SWOEA Committee / Commission.
- Conduct the OEA At-Large election to the NEA Representative Assembly.
The awards are given at the conclusion of the 2005 SWOEA Spring Representative Assembly on April 23rd at the Sharonville Convention Center.

Let’s see more associations achieve this award during 2005-06. Each local received a check for $500 in which they could use on programs for their local association.
